Ashley has experienced five placement changes, yet she has remained determined to succeed both academically and emotionally. Ashley’s birthday is coming up, and even though it will be her third celebration in a group home, she does not want a party or gifts. Instead, she has requested help getting her hair colored. For Ashley, taking care of her appearance is a vital way to maintain her dignity and sense of identity amid constant changes in her life. This request would allow her to have her hair professionally cut and colored, as well as to purchase some much-needed hair care products. It would be a moment of self-care and confidence-building that she truly deserves. After everything she has been through, this act of kindness will help her feel seen, confident, and uplifted.
