DeShawn entered foster care and is now living with a loving foster family. He has been diagnosed with autism, has ongoing medical needs, and requires a high level of support. Despite these challenges, his personality shines brightly as he joyfully overcomes social stigma, verbal communication obstacles, and ongoing health issues. DeShawn is incredibly affectionate; he loves hugs, back scratches, and bedtime snuggles. He enjoys connecting with others by watching his favorite shows on his tablet and laughing together at funny moments. DeShawn loves car rides, music by Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez, and sitting on the front porch every evening. He is easygoing, gentle, and has a great sense of humor, making him absolutely adored by everyone who meets him.

DeShawn is autistic and expresses his emotions through stimming. When he experiences strong feelings, he enjoys rocking as a way to self-soothe.
