J'mya has been in foster care since the age of three. Her frequent moves during childhood made it challenging for her to establish a true sense of belonging. In response to these challenges, J'mya turned to creative outlets such as writing, reading, and music, which provided her with comfort and a means of expression. Her resilience and creativity have helped her navigate life's transitions, and she continues to grow as a thoughtful and driven young adult. Through music, she has found an outlet that allows her to feel connected and empower her inner self.

J’mya wishes for a pair of headphones because music has always been a source of comfort and strength for her. Growing up in foster care, she often turned to music and writing to cope with difficult times. Having her own pair of headphones would allow her to fully immerse herself in the music she loves, helping her relax and focus while continuing to use these healthy outlets for healing and self-expression.
