Silver Lining MentoringKristie is a shy young woman with tons of talent just waiting to be discovered. Kristie has trouble speaking and opening up to others, but she recently met a volunteer mentor who has helped her come out of her shell and discover her strengths. She is excited to explore some of these strengths, which all center around organizing things and being helpful. She loves animals and is excited to get out and volunteer at local shelters with her mentor.
Starting at a new school can be intimidating for anyone, especially for someone who is shy. One thing that helps Kristie feel more confident is getting organized. She enjoys shopping at Target with her mentor, where they look for fun and useful gadgets to help her stay organized and plan her goals. A Target gift card would allow Kristie to buy new school supplies, helping her feel prepared for success in class and beyond. It will also teach her how to budget and save to restock her supplies throughout the school year.

"Hi Kristie! You and I have things in common. I was shy in school, I love animals and being organized as well! It’s okay to be shy but don’t be afraid to speak up. (Others are not smarter than you just because they talk a good game- I promise) I’m a grandma now and speak my mind on a regular basis ;) Wishing you a wonderful school year! "

"Thank you so much for my wish. I'm really excited to go to Target with my mentor and have my own money so it can feel like we're just grown-up friends going shopping together. I'm really excited to have what I need to feel ready in class at my new school. "
