Mia is a gentle and kind young woman who loves making others feel welcome. She possesses a strong, quiet spirit that has helped her navigate every challenge since aging out of foster care. Mia enjoys making jewelry and spending time with friends. She lost her mother when she was 6 years old which is how she ended up in the foster care system. She is now a mother herself, and she is filled with excitement about giving her daughter the life she wasn’t able to have while growing up.

Mia has successfully completed her Associate’s Degree at community college and is now gearing up to attend NC Central this fall, taking on a full-time class schedule. Living and working in another town, she finds herself in a challenging situation. With her commitment to her studies, Mia will be sacrificing two workdays each week due to in-person classes, which means her income will be decreasing just as her expenses are on the rise. As grocery costs continue to climb, any assistance to help offset these expenses would be greatly appreciated during this crucial time.
