Deja’nai is a quiet young woman who tends to keep to herself. She has experienced significant trauma in the past, which has led her to maintain a small and trusted circle of people in her life. Deja’nai is actively engaged in therapy, which is helping her overcome difficult obstacles. She is working towards a degree in Early Childhood Development, as she enjoys being around children and looks forward to the day she can begin working with them. In her free time, Deja’nai enjoys spending time in nature, where she can experience peaceful moments of reflection. She also has a sweet tooth and especially loves cupcakes. Deja'nai receives support from San Diego Youth Services.

Deja’nai has taken a brave step forward by beginning her first semester of community college, majoring in Early Childhood Development. She is determined to build a future where she can give back by working with children—a career path she feels deeply passionate about. Starting college is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with real challenges. Having the proper school supplies, such as notebooks, flash cards, pens, and other essentials, will allow Deja’nai to stay organized, engaged, and confident in her studies.
