MO DSS Children's Division - Jackson CountyCole loves football, and his favorite color is blue. His passion for the sport runs deep, and even when he can't watch the games, just checking the score brings him a spark of happiness. For most of his life, Cole has had to make do with very little. Despite this, he remains grateful for what little he has. Cole is excited about the prospect of playing in high school one day.
Cole grew up in a violent and unstable environment, raised by a single mother who struggles to provide even the basics. Enduring physical abuse has left him overwhelmed with emotions, leading to disruptive behavior at school. At this critical stage in his development, Cole has never had the opportunity to process his trauma. Therapy could offer him a life-changing chance to find a safe space to express his feelings. However, the absence of reliable transportation makes accessing in-person therapy difficult, which is why having a laptop is essential for him. This device would enable him to attend virtual therapy sessions and also be vital for his academic success, allowing him to thrive in school. Cole deserves the chance to heal, grow, and succeed. A laptop would not only transform his life but also bring hope to a family that has faced too many challenges.
