The National Youth Advocate ProgramJoel has been in foster care for several years. Despite his extended time in the system, he is doing his best to make new friends, try new activities, and maintain a positive outlook. However, this has been very challenging for him. He is currently in individual therapy to process everything that has happened over the years. He has experienced things that no one should ever have to endure. Nevertheless, Joel continues to strive to move forward each day. He enjoys visiting the recreation center, playing at the park, spending time with his brother, and going out to eat.
Joel has been dreaming of a shiny new red bike for his birthday that he hopes will bring him some joy. With a bike, he imagines all the fun adventures he can have with his friends, racing down the street and exploring parks. A bike would mean endless fun and unforgettable memories.
