Orchards Children's ServicesJayceon has recently entered foster care and is having difficulty adjusting to being away from his family. His caregiver describes him as silly, expressive, and sensitive.
Jayceon's teacher recently introduced a sensory tent for him to use during the school day, leading to remarkable improvements in his engagement, sense of safety, and willingness to participate in activities. As he navigates feelings of insecurity in both his new foster home and at school, he often completes his assignments inside the tent, which has become a comforting space for him. Inspired by the positive effects it has had on his school experience, Jayceon would love to have a similar setup in his foster home to help him feel more secure and engaged.
