Arcadia University- H.O.M.E. ProgramJames is a resilient young man who has overcome many challenges throughout his foster care journey. He entered foster care shortly after he was born and remained in and out of the system until his biological parents’ rights were terminated when he was ten. After spending over a year in two different group homes, including one called Youth Haven, he was placed in a temporary foster home while waiting for an adoptive family. He eventually moved to Connecticut, where he spent two years deciding whether adoption felt safe after a traumatic past with “family.” At sixteen, he realized that the stability and support his adoptive parents offered were exactly what he needed to grow. Now an adult in college, he has discovered that he’s happiest when working on cars, learning about technology, and spending time outdoors hiking.
He is asking for a Steam Deck. As he mentioned, he enjoys exploring new forms of technology and learning how they work. This device would allow him to play his favorite PC games, whether he’s at home or on the go, including during downtime on his college campus. Having this wish granted would give him a high-quality source of entertainment and relaxation, offering the freedom to escape into his favorite fantasy worlds whenever he has a spare moment.
Arcadia University- H.O.M.E. Program requests this wish for James.
