Litzy recently entered foster care after experiencing significant hardship, yet she continues to show incredible resilience and heart. As the middle child in a large sibling group, she has often found herself balancing the desire to simply be a kid with the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings. She loves them deeply, and even though they were not all able to stay together, she remains strong for them. Despite the challenges she has faced, Litzy continues to shine in school. Her caregivers describe her as kind-hearted, thoughtful, and someone who always tries to lift others up, even when she is struggling herself. She remains hopeful and optimistic, focusing on her goals and the possibility of brighter days ahead. Litzy is a brave young girl navigating enormous change, and she deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and seen.

Before going into foster care, Litzy and her family lost their home, and she could only take one pair of shoes with her. Because her family struggled financially, they couldn’t afford brand-name shoes. As she starts a new high school, Litzy dreams of owning a pair of Air Jordans for Christmas. It’s not just about the shoes; she wants to feel like she fits in with her peers. A new pair would give her comfort, confidence, and a sense of belonging during a difficult time in her life.
