Naima is a thoughtful and artistic young woman who has gone through foster care. Naima is wishing for a bicycle for the holiday so she can reconnect with a hobby that once brought her joy and freedom. When she was little in her home country, riding her bike was one of her happiest memories. But when she came to the U.S. and entered foster care, she had to leave that bike behind, along with many pieces of her childhood. It has now been nine years since she last rode, and she’s hoping to make biking a part of her life again. Having a bike would be incredibly meaningful to Naima. She wants to relearn riding at her own pace throughout the rest of this year and into next, with the goal of spending her summer exploring beaches and scenic trails with her dog, Stella, by her side. A bike would give her a sense of freedom, peace, and accomplishment, all while helping her rebuild a hobby she loved long before life became complicated.
