Nyamal is a bright light in our classroom, radiating warmth with her gentle spirit and a heart full of love. Proud of her Nuer heritage, she joyfully shares her native language with friends and teachers. Currently living in transitional housing in Warren Village with her family, her natural caretaking qualities shine as she looks out for her younger brother. With a delightful imagination, Nyamal loves princesses, the color pink, and everything magical. Her remarkable intelligence and curiosity allow her to remember every little detail, and it's her kindness, inquisitive nature, and sweet hugs that make her an absolute joy to be around.

When asked what she wanted, Nyamal said she hoped for a Christmas tree she could decorate with her mom and siblings. Her family recently moved into Warren Village’s transitional housing after experiencing a period of homelessness, and they are working hard to create a warm, joyful home. A tree to decorate together would give them a special family tradition to share and help make the holidays feel meaningful and bright during a time of rebuilding.
