Athena is a bright, fun, and extremely caring pre-teen girl who has been through a lot, especially recently. Due to violence and instability, she and her family have had to move multiple times during the past two years. She has taken on a lot of responsibility for herself, her mother, and her younger brother, and has shown remarkable loyalty, sacrifice, and compassion while doing so. She is now in temporary foster care, where she is getting caught up in school, making friends, and beginning to explore her own interests, outside of caring for her younger brother. One new interest that she has recently discovered is drawing!

Now that Athena is in a stable resource home, she is really coming into her own. She loves being a pre-teen girl! She is getting caught up in school, building solid friendships, and beginning to explore her own interests outside of her younger brother. She is discovering that she loves drawing! This color marker set would provide her with tools to use as she sits at her foster family's dinner table, drawing, singing, and chatting with all the kids in the house.
