Vontra has been with his current caregivers since February of 2024. Before this, he lived in another home and was also in foster care in a different state as a toddler. He has a keen interest in science, space, and insects, particularly ants. Recently, Vontra was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and has a speech impediment. He is currently working on strengthening his interpersonal skills. Vontra is a creative young boy who frequently returns home from school with imaginative creatures he crafted using various arts and crafts materials. He loves building/creating things with his hands. He likes Legos and Minecraft. Due to his difficulty with communication, Vontra sometimes struggles with connecting with others. Learning more “fun facts” about ants will allow him to not only learn more about something he likes, but also increase his confidence to connect with others.

This book will help Vontra improve his reading skills while learning about something he loves. Plus, learning more about ants will enable Vontra to connect with others by sharing fun facts.
