Thea became homeless at 18 with nowhere to go, but she didn’t let that stop her from working toward a better future. Despite facing instability and limited financial resources, she remained determined and hopeful. During this uncertain time, she completed a three-week training program focused on financial literacy and professional development. Thea is now enrolled in a subsidized phlebotomy certificate program and puts in tremendous effort so she can build a stable career in healthcare. She recently secured her own housing and, for the first time in years, has a safe and stable place to call home. Through everything, Thea has stayed thoughtful and appreciative, always offering kindness to the people around her, even on her hardest days.

Thea knows that a key part of her journey toward healthy living is being able to cook her own meals. Now that she has moved into an apartment with a friend after experiencing homelessness and transitional housing, she finally has access to a real kitchen for the first time. She hopes to make this new space feel safe, warm, and like a true home. To do that, Thea wishes for the basic kitchen tools and equipment she needs to cook healthy meals and start building daily routines that help her move forward.
