Deja has faced significant challenges throughout her life. She entered foster care at the age of 10 after being abandoned in a hotel along with her siblings. This difficult experience led to multiple placements, which disrupted her education and hindered her ability to build a strong academic foundation. Despite these obstacles, Deja is determined to succeed. She enjoys spending time outdoors and watching television, but her true passion is in healthcare. Deja aspires to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and eventually a Licensed Practical Nurse. Currently, she works as a nursing assistant, where she is gaining valuable experience in the field.

Deja just recently aged-out of foster care in October and moved into her own apartment. She is proud of what she has accomplished before aging out of foster care. She has obtained a high school diploma and Nursing Assistant certification., Because of her multiple placements while in care, both achievements took lots of effort. Deja has signed her first independent lease agreement and has purchased bedroom furniture and living room furniture on her own. She has an older and smaller television, but would like a large smart television for her new apartment, which she has already neatly decorated.
