Leia did not have much guidance around budgeting growing up, and she has been trying to figure this out without family support to fall back on after aging out of care. Even with everything on her plate, she knows what she is working toward: staying housed, feeling stable, and building money habits that will help her long term. When she gets a chance to breathe, Leia enjoys DIY projects and likes making her space feel like home.

Leia is hoping to receive a portable heated lunchbox to bring warm, home-cooked meals with her to work. She is a young adult who aged out of foster care and is now living on her own. She spends long hours in a busy role and often ends up buying food during her shifts because there isn’t a reliable way to heat meals on site. Having this lunchbox would let her prepare meals at home, save money each week, and stick to the budget she is working hard to build. With so much of her paycheck going toward rent and daily expenses, being able to bring her own food would make a real difference, including helping her put more toward paying down her rental arrears.
