Alysa was born in Odesa, Ukraine just days before the war broke out. She spent her first month in a bomb shelter with her mom. Miraculously escaping the war-torn area, Alysa and her mom embarked on a long journey, eventually finding refuge in the United States. She's with her mom, but they're struggling. Finances are tight, making it hard to afford housing and daycare. Despite their struggles, Alysa is a happy young girl who loves to play. She especially loves her nighttime ritual of bedtime stories with her mom.

Alysa's birthday is approaching, and this year she is asking for something to keep her warm and cozy during the cold winter months. One of her favorite activities is listening to bedtime stories every night before she goes to sleep. A new comforter would make this ritual even cozier and ensure that Alysa sleeps warmly and peacefully.
