Children's InstituteAyleen spent time in foster care due to medical issues her mother and father faced. Despite this difficult journey, she has since been reunited with her parents. Unfortunately, Ayleen and her family were recently evicted because of financial hardship and her parents’ ongoing medical illnesses. They are currently homeless, yet Ayleen remains a happy, resilient girl, and her parents work hard to shield her from the struggles they face.
Ayleen and her family have recently been placed in a shelter after living out of their car for 2 months. Their room is small, and with only two beds available and no cribs provided for infants Ayleen and her father have been sleeping on the floor with just blankets. A playpen would give Ayleen a safe, warm, and comfortable place to sleep. It would protect her from the cold floor, help keep her healthy, and allow her to rest the way a baby should. This support would also ease the financial burden on her parents during a very challenging time. Most importantly, having her own cozy space would make Ayleen a happier, well-rested baby as her family works toward stability.
