Fidget items to help a child manage their anxiety and stress.
Foster Child, 15 years old

Therapeutic Interagency ProgramFoster kids are kids, period. And they just want to have the same freedom and joy as their peers. Each year thousands of kids enter foster care in Ohio, separated from their friends, families, neighborhoods and most of what is familiar to them. It can be difficult, but One Simple Wish strives to make the transition a little easier so kids can enjoy childhood and make happy memories!
Early childhood abuse and neglect causes a variety of developmental, behavioral and emotional challenges. At TIP, we help children catch up with their same-age peers by providing intense services to help each child learn how to focus and engage in a variety of settings. Sometimes this is best done by using small fidget toys so that children can manage impulsive feelings in group settings or get through intense feelings of anxiety. These fidgets are a great item that can be taught through therapeutic services but sent home with kids so that they can utilize these skills in other settings.
