Groceries for Scarlett who is taking care of her daughter and sisters

Scarlett, 25 years old

City Living NY

Scarlett is a young mother who has overcome many challenges. She was kicked out of her home as a teenager, and had periods of street homelessness and foster care. She finally got her own apartment at 19, where she lives with her vivacious little girl. Recently, Scarlett has also taken in her two younger sisters, aged 8 and 12, to keep them from living with strangers in the foster care system. Scarlett is a phenomenal mother, who has truly broken any perceived cycle of abuse. Her daughter is the light of her life, and the care she shows for her is clearly apparent.

Scarlett has a 3 year old daughter but also took in her two younger sisters who are 8 and 12, three months ago to keep them from living with strangers after they entered foster care. While she works, she has had to cut down her hours in order to take the kids to mandated visits, to retrieve their vital documents, to enroll them in school, attend Court etc. Due to the abuse and neglect they were receiving in their biological home, Scarlett states they seem constantly hungry. Please consider helping Scarlett get some extra food in the house as she has found herself suddenly with many more mouths to feed.

"Thank you so so much! You have no idea the difference this will make for Scarlett. She is working so hard but its hard to feed herself as well as three kids! But she didnt want her sisters to have her experience of foster care. Thank you for being an awesome human and caring about the lives of youth like them."
