A Cell Phone for Sierra to help her stay connected to her sister and case management team
Sierra, 20 years old
Wish submitted by:
Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children, Inc.Sierra is a bright and motivated young woman who has been in and out of multiple foster homes and residential facilities for the last three years. Despite the constant changes in her life, Sierra manages to keep a positive attitude and continues to look at the bigger picture. She loves to journal and draw and is quite gifted. During her time in the most recent residential program, Sierra obtained all of her credits to graduate high school, took her SAT's, and participated in college visits. She is working hard to turn her past struggles into a brighter future by going to college to become and art therapist.
Sierra is working hard to build her future and has already graduated high school. She will be working two part-time jobs when she reintegrates into foster care. This phone will allow her to keep in touch with her foster family when she is working away from home, and it will also give her the ability to stay in contact with her sister who she misses very much. It will also give her a sense of normalcy, and she will be able to reach out to friends more often, like all teenagers. This will also be a step toward her self sufficiency and independence as she will be working to pay her own bill.
