She is very studious, and knows she has to be to be able to play basketball. She would like to go on to college, but hasn't decided where. She is interested in getting a basketball scholarship to help her through college. Shakiya is friendly and kind, but tends to want to stay out of the drama that she feels others find themselves in. She likes to keep her room neater vs. cluttered, claiming herself a "neat freak".
Shakiya is planning to leave for college in the fall and her team is trying to get her all of the items she will need in college. One of those things is a microwave for her college dorm for her to make simple meals when she is up late studying. Shakiya will deeply appreciate the support, and she can't wait to experience college dorm life.
