Amelia is an extraordinary young woman. She aged out of foster care, and went onto serve in the US Military. She is very proud of her time in the service, and the life opportunities it gave her. She overcame her fears of flying and being away from extended family and that has fed her desire to travel. Amelia has also decided to stand in the gap for her family and become a kinship parent, and break the cycles of foster care within her family. In her free time, Amelia enjoy museums, road trips and learning about other people's life journeys.

Amelia is happily serving as a kinship parent to her great-nephew, Raymond. He is a delightful little boy that brings so much joy to Amelia's life. Amelia is hoping to get some new books to read to Raymond that explains in age appropriate terms about his family structure, and how she will be adopting him. Amelia and Raymond love to share their special time together reading, and these books will help him to understand that so many people love him, and that he and Amelia are a family.
