Derrick is an amazing young man who is having a hard time adjusting to going into foster care. Derrick has remained hopeful, and is trying to stay focused. He is very quiet and does not talk to many people, and it takes him a very long time to relax and speak to people. Derrick is having a hard time finding friends, but is trying his best to reach out and make connections.

Derrick loves being outdoors. It's almost impossible to keep him indoors. With winter here, his family has had to find creative ways to keep him occupied. A Meta Quest 2 Oculus will definitely help with keeping him engaged. Derrick is a gamer at heart. He was recently moved to a new area and does not have friends yet, and had to leave a lot of people behind. Derrick would like to keep in touch with his friends through the virtual realty games they would always play together. He believes he will be able to make friends at new school because he is a happy and loving child, and would like to start a gaming group like his old neighborhood kids had. This would be an amazing Christmas wish for Derrick who needs some joy this year.
