Nicole is a wonderful kid with special needs. She is nonverbal and developmentally near a two year old. She does have that teenage attitude at times. She has given me that shoulder shrug when I have interrupted snack time. Nicole attends a special services school, where they work on her basic life skills. At this time, she has learned some basic sign language. It is difficult at time because her hands lack the dexterity needed to perform other signs. Nicole likes to experience objects through her sense of touch, anything from stuffed animals to avocados. The bumps, curves or the texture of an object allows for new experiences.
