Alex has enjoyed drawing from an early age and has demonstrated real talent. Hearing from one of her teachers of an art show this spring, Alex completed the application form on her own. She followed the guidelines (one drawing per day for a month) independently. She decided that her drawings would all be based on a similar theme. She used several different mediums for her work, each highlighting a different aspect of her subjects. With minimal assistance she created the wall display at the venue where the Center of the Creative Arts is located. The night of the opening she remained with her display the entire evening and engaged with all those who stopped to admire her work. She explained her subject matter to those who were unfamiliar with it and described her different techniques to those who were curious about that aspect of her work. She was equally comfortable with attendees of all ages and backgrounds in art appreciation.
