From Kimberly:"During my time in foster care system, I had hit my rock bottom. I was abused for fifteen years of my life. It was after a long night, my life would change forever. My abusive step father was forced out of the family, meanwhile my family had lost our home. I was then declared a ward of the court. My family had no choice but to live with a family friend in Anaheim. Courts were not easy because I was not sure if I would remain a ward or be removed from my mom. I had fallen in a pit of depression. I had lost all motivation, for my life was rapidly changing and I felt I was not in control. I then found the sport water polo and it helped me out of my depression. I had to take the bus from Anaheim to Huntington Beach every morning to make it to practice. It was not an easy ride, but my mental state had improved drastically."
