About Michelle

Michelle is 31 years old and lives in MI

Michelle is a third-year medical student at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine who is committed to health innovation and service. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Michelle discovered this interest in lifestyle fitness after personal experience with chronic illness and obesity. She became a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine and began leading community lifestyle fitness events. In 2019, this led to Michelle creating Lifestyle Fitness Empowerment Inc (LiFE Inc), a nonprofit organization that empowers the public to take charge of their own health by providing community members with practical lifestyle fitness education and activities. In addition to being a nonprofit founder, health advocate, and medical student, Michelle is a former foster youth. Michelle grew up in foster care and aged-out as a young adult when she began working with advocacy organizations like the National Foster Youth Institute (NFYI) through which she shared her story to audiences across the country including a congressional meeting in the U.S. Capitol. Michelle looks forward to integrating her passion for healthy lifestyle habits into medical practice throughout her career as a physician. Michelle is an influential innovator in her community and has been recognized for her work through awards and media including features on the Dr. Oz Show, MSNBC’s The Grio, and Greater Lansing’s Healthy and Fit Magazine.
