Martine spent 18 years in foster care. Her biggest challenged while placed in foster care was depression and housing insecurity. Despite the challenges she face as a foster youth, Martine finds comfort knowing that higher education is possible and looks forward to continuing her education. In the future Martine wants to use her experience to advocate and help implement policies that positively impact other foster youth who are experiencing the same challenges she faced.
