Maria has cerebral palsy and is currently in a foster home with her aunt. Maria and her two brothers entered foster care and came to live with their aunt in 2014. Maria loves Lilo and Stitch, listening to music, eating food, watching movies, and playing Uno. Maria is non-verbal but is able to use a communication device to converse.
