Joshua, 21 years old, NY
Joshua grew up in foster care and has moved around a lot, from Philadelphia to California and now to New York. With each new place and family, he learned to adapt quickly, which he sees as his greatest strength. Adapting is crucial for someone in foster care because you never really know what to expect. His experiences taught him the value of self-reliance, good judgment, and the importance of trust and kindness. Although it was a tough journey, these challenges helped him grow emotionally and build his self-esteem. Joshua believes that if he hadn’t gone through foster care, he wouldn’t have developed his emotional intelligence as much as he has. He enjoys surrounding himself with positive people, which helps him keep growing. Joshua describes himself as a nerd. He loves playing card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering, as well as video games like Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. He also enjoys anime and reading comics, especially from Marvel. One of his favorite hobbies is writing. He creates stories that often connect with his interests, like Dungeons & Dragons. Joshua loves using his imagination, and he believes that creativity and a thirst for knowledge are rare in today’s world. He wants to make people smile through his stories and jokes.
