Sima was adopted as an infant. At the age of fifteen, she entered a residential treatment facility to address her mental health challenges. After completing the program, her adoptive parents decided to surrender her back to the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), stating they could no longer care for Sima or her brother. Sima expresses her individuality through colorful French braids and takes pride in her appearance, enjoying makeup. Adults in her life describe her as friendly, respectful, and kind. She actively engages in various activities, such as playing basketball, riding her bicycle, and cooking. Sima's favorite pastime is baking cookies and experimenting with new recipes, which reflects her innovative spirit and dedication to mastering new skills.
