Jasmine, 20 years old, CA

Jasmine faced many obstacles during her 4 years in foster care, including the passing of her adoptive parents. Although she often felt lost or hopeless, she learned to look for light at the end of every tunnel, and honor the memory of her parents by living her own life with strength and purpose. Jasmine found comfort in outlets such as painting and hiking in nature. She wishes more people understood that foster youth have diverse needs and that no single solution fits all. Jasmine sees herself becoming a correctional officer, advocating for prison reform, and achieving financial stability for herself and her family.
