JR, 9 years old, OR

Jr, also known as Shaun, has been through a lot. He saw his dad get arrested for hurting his mom, and after that, they lived together in difficult conditions. His mom verbally, emotionally, and physically abused him, and their home was a messy and unsafe place. He witnessed violence and struggled with not having enough food or proper hygiene. Jr was born with drugs and alcohol in his system and missed out on early help because his mom couldn’t take him. Even though his grandmother completed all the paperwork to enroll him in a program to help him, it didn’t happen. He has a twin sister, whom he is placed separately from, which makes him very sad. He also has another set of twin siblings, but he can only see them a little because of their unsafe behaviors. What he really wants more than anything is to spend time with his siblings. Now, he’s living with his grandmother, who is his sixth foster care placement, and she is trying to provide a safe home for him.
