Madox, 16 years old, CA

Madox came to the attention of child welfare services in San Diego after being repatriated from Mexico. In Mexico, Madox was left without a caretaker when his mother was taken into custody on criminal charges. He was observed to be in danger while living on his own, near individuals involved in taking and selling illegal substances. Madox is a quiet, thoughtful, and respectful young man. Although he is reserved in conversation, he expresses himself through music. Over the past few years, he has gained confidence by embracing his creativity, particularly through playing the guitar. Madox has a variety of interests, including music, working out, video games, and exploring unique snacks at H Mart. As he begins to think about life after high school, he is considering options such as trade school or the military. Madox is a resilient young man who thrives when given encouragement and opportunities for self-expression.
