Nydeye, 11 months old, OH
Ndeye was born very prematurely and is facing many medical challenges. Her parents' first language is not English, and they are working hard with Ndeye's foster parents, doctors, and translators to overcome the language barrier. Ndeye has concerns with aspirating her formula; she is unable to take much food by mouth, and she had to be given an NG tube. Additionally, she was born with fluid on her brain, and many specialists are closely monitoring her. Ndeye is a resilient child who braves all these appointments with cardiology, GI, feed team, PT, OT, allergy clinic, neuro, NICU, and ophthalmology. Ndeye's specific medical needs are complicated and will hopefully be resolved or improved as she ages and gains strength. Ndeye is always smiling, and those around her fall in love with her warm energy immediately. She is known as the happiest baby and is closely bonded to her teenage foster sisters, who dote on her and always pick out the cutest outfits. Ndeye is a joy to her foster and biological family, and everyone is cheering her on and celebrating her strengths.
