Trent is a young man who has experienced more loss than most. He lost his first family when he was too young to understand, and just as he started to feel at home with his adoptive parents, they were taken from him, too. Now back in foster care, he has a hard time trusting others and keeps his heart protected. Despite this, he is a kind and respectful person who still longs to belong somewhere. He finds comfort in simple things—his favorite color, black, feels like a shield; playing video games helps him escape; and he enjoys the little moments spent with his new foster family. Even after everything he has been through, there is a gentle strength in him and a quiet hope that maybe this time, the people around him will stay.
