Nevaeha is a remarkably resilient individual whose journey has been shaped by significant challenges and an unwavering determination to rise above them. She entered foster care at the age of 14 after experiencing instability in her home, and during her time in care, she faced further hardship, including periods of running away and homelessness. These experiences left her feeling as though the system meant to protect her had fallen short, making it difficult for her to ever feel truly safe or supported. When she turned 18, she was again asked to navigate independence before she felt ready. Yet despite the instability and uncertainty surrounding her, she has continued to show extraordinary strength. She approaches every obstacle with maturity and a deep sense of self?-advocacy—always speaking up for her needs with respect and heartfelt intention. With this foundation, she is now working toward her next goal: pursuing a career in social work so she can help improve the very system she grew up in and ensure future youth receive the support she never had.
