Emma, 22 years old, CA
Emma is a bright, resilient young woman who has broken the cycle of hardship to reach her current stability. Living with her maternal grandparents, she has found a supportive home after a challenging upbringing marked by the loss of her mother to cancer and her father's swift remarriage, which led to addiction and an unsafe environment. After enduring neglect and homelessness, Emma was placed in the foster system and ultimately found refuge with her elderly grandparents. Now a hardworking communications major at her local community college, she balances her studies with two jobs as a barista and after-school coach, all while maintaining a commitment to visit her siblings, adopted out of state. Outside of school and work, she loves the beach, staying active, exploring new places, and playing with her cat. Outgoing, sociable, and adventurous, Emma is passionate about sports, especially the Dodgers, and aspires to work in sports media production one day.
