Leah, 18 years old, DE

Leah is a vibrant and energetic young person who brings life and conversation wherever she goes. She enjoys talking with friends, listening to music, spending time with her family, and playing basketball. Known for her outgoing personality, Leah connects easily with others and enjoys sharing her experiences and stories with those around her. Over the past year, Leah has shown incredible strength while navigating the challenges of foster care, including living in a group setting. Despite these challenges, she continues to persevere with the support of her family, friends, faith, and therapeutic team. She leans into the resources available to her and remains focused on moving forward. Leah has made meaningful progress both academically and personally. She is preparing to graduate high school and has challenged herself by taking an advanced placement course during her senior year. She has also been an active participant on her school’s Unified Basketball team and has recently secured employment. Leah has been accepted into her state university and will begin a Summer Jump Start program, taking an exciting step toward her goal of pursuing a career in law. Leah is especially proud of her college acceptance and the progress she has made. She is determined, strong-willed, and not afraid to advocate for herself or ask for support when needed. Her resilience and determination to overcome challenges make her truly deserving of recognition. Looking ahead, Leah is excited to begin her Summer Jump Start program and continue her studies in the fall. She is focused on building a successful future and continuing her path toward higher education.
