Geo, 22 years old, CA

Geo is a business major at Pasadena City College and a former foster youth who learned early how to navigate life on his own. As a member of California Youth Connections (CYC), he continues to grow and looks for ways to give back in a meaningful way. Geo hopes to one day start a nonprofit that supports youth in POC communities and helps them understand that vulnerability is not weakness—it can be a source of strength. His experiences have shaped him into someone who wants to turn pain into purpose. Geo did not grow up with much stability. His time in foster care brought many changes, and he often had to figure things out on his own. These experiences taught him how to keep going, even when life felt uncertain. Over time, he learned to face challenges rather than avoid them. He is reflective, emotionally aware, and quietly determined. He also connects easily with others, especially those who feel overlooked or misunderstood, because he has been there himself. In his free time, Geo focuses on personal growth and planning for his future. He carries his past with him, but he does not let it define him. Instead, he uses it as motivation to build something meaningful and to support others who are still finding their way.
