Chloe, 13 years old, MI

Chloe is a sweet, caring, kind, and beautiful girl. She can be quiet and shy when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she is friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. Chloe plays on her school soccer team and enjoys staying active. She likes soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and taking walks with friends. She also loves animals, especially whales and elephants. Chloe is a strong advocate for herself and especially for her younger sister. She has made it clear that she wants a loving forever family for both of them. Chloe cares deeply about her sister and wants to make sure she is always loved and cared for. Chloe has faced many difficult experiences in her life, including parental substance use, the loss of important people, hard living situations, and several foster care placements. The termination of parental rights has been especially hard for her. She continues to work through these emotions while also worrying about what kind of adoptive family would be best for her and her sister. Because of everything she has experienced, Chloe sometimes struggles with her mental health. Her care team, therapist, foster family, and maternal aunt work hard to remind her how special and important she is. Chloe also has a few close friends she trusts and is building more friendships through soccer. Despite the challenges she has faced, Chloe remains thoughtful, loving, and caring. She has a big heart and often worries more than she should, especially when it comes to protecting her younger sister. Chloe dreams of becoming a dental hygienist when she grows up.
