RL, 19 years old, MO

Growing up in foster care meant living with constant uncertainty, as RL was moved between homes multiple times, often with little or no warning. Each move required RL to leave behind familiar people, schools, and routines, making it difficult to develop a sense of stability and belonging. These experiences taught her the importance of resilience and maintaining healthy coping skills to manage stress, adapt to change, and overcome challenges. Although the instability shaped many of her childhood experiences, it also strengthened my ability to persevere and gave her a deep appreciation for the value of consistency, support, and emotional well being.
