Jovin experienced emotional abuse and general neglect from his mother who struggled with substance abuse and domestic violence. He and his younger siblings were eventually removed from his mother's care and placed into foster care. Jovin is now a respectful and independent adult who lives in his own apartment and is focusing on building a successful future for himself. He has developed a "can-do" attitude and is motivated to succeed. His goals include obtaining his driver's license, researching career technical programs, and finding a full-time job. Jovin is actively engaged with a local youth center and has completed 120 hours of paid work experience at a local animal shelter. He has also worked as a security guard at local events.
