Kayla entered foster care at age 13 following a traumatic experience of sexual abuse. During this difficult period, she was removed from her home and struggled with adjusting to middle school while navigating significant changes in her life. After her case progressed, her grandmother advocated for her and was eventually able to care for her again. Despite the challenges Kayla experienced at a young age, she has developed into a hardworking and goal-oriented young woman. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to listen to others, understand where they are coming from, and respect different perspectives. Kayla enjoys reading and spending quality time with her friends and continues to focus on building a positive future for herself.
