Skye fills a battered spiral notebook with poems she rarely shares with anyone outside her closest circle, using writing to process feelings she doesn't always know how to say out loud. She's warm and social once she's comfortable, and her small group of close friends means the world to her, giving her a sense of belonging that's sometimes hard to find elsewhere. Skye has moved through several foster placements since entering care in middle school, and while the instability has made her cautious with new adults, she pours a lot of that emotion into her writing instead. Skye loves spending weekends with her friends, whether that's a sleepover, a trip to the mall, or just hanging out talking for hours.
