The Juvenile Services Division is responsible for statewide administration of juvenile intake, investigations, supervision, and services for youth and families impacting community safety, habilitation, and behavior change. Families are empowered to be a part of the decision making process, which greatly aids the success of youth. Nebraska unlike other states has taken the Juvaniles who offend out of helath and human services division and placed them under the jurisdiction of the supreme court in order to offer them more comprehensive services. Juvanile Justice minors are still placed out of home in foster homes or group homes but the term used is probation as opposed to ward of the state. the children still enter foster care.
