CASA trains community volunteers to advocate for children who have been abused and/or neglected by their caregivers. The volunteer goes through a 40 hour training and extensive background checks and is sworn in as an officer of the court. They visit the children in the home of the caregiver and obtain the child's wishes. They also investigate and interview anyone important in that child's life and make a recommendation to the court.
